Dialog Freight International, as well as the entire “DFI Group” was registered in Moscow on March, 25, 1993. The company was started with the purpose of providing transport-forwarding and customs services related to export and import transactions in the Russian Federation and the CIS countries according to international standards. The successful execution of a three-year contract to organize and deliver equipment for oil companies from different points and supply of the US Trust “Chevron” for its activities at Tenghiz in Kazakhstan, proved that even transnational companies, which were at that time making their first steps in former USSR countries, could make use of a local company to provide a high level of service.
Russian companies also have appreciated our presence in transport services market by trusting us with their international and internal transport operations. Becoming a member of the Freight Forwarders Association of the Russian Federation and of the International Forwarders Association FIATA has contributed substantially in the growth of our company, allowing us to use FIATA documents approved by the Chamber of Trade and Industry at the United Nations Organization.
Although competition in the transport/forwarding industry is becoming increasingly aggressive, with the arrival in Russia of world leaders, Dialog Freight International has not lost itself among the big name companies. We have demonstrated consistent and steady growth and currently employing more than 100 employees in seven offices across Russia and we service North America from our office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
When the first customs brokerage companies began to emerge in Russia in early 90’s, DFI was among them. It is difficult to overstate the experience we have gained in terms of customs clearance of unusual and non-standard cargoes to Russia since then. We have completed literally tens of thousands of successfully customs clearances transactions saving our clients millions of rubles in dues all through the legal application of Russian custom laws. It is not easy to put a price on the time and money we have saved our clients.
In the many years since the beginning of the DFI group we have proven our ability not only to overcome difficulties but also to move forward in a tough, competitive environment while maintaining a tradition of high levels of customer service and developing an excellent reputation for the company in a competitive marketplace.
